Cooperstown 2011: Bobby Higginson

BOBBY HIGGINSON
First Year on Ballot

PLAYING CAREER:  Detroit Tigers (1995-2005)

ACHIEVEMENTS:  Career batting average of .272 with 187 home runs.  Hit 25 or more home runs in four seasons and drove in 100 or more runs twice.  He ended his career never having played on a team that had a winning season.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ON TWITTER:

@PeteAbe:  Hall of Fame ballot was waiting when I got home. I have already decided not to vote for Bobby Higginson or B.J. Surhoff

@jimsey:  I just know that Bobby Higginson is a first ballot hall of famer.

HOVG THOUGHTS:  Higginson is proof to everyone out there that if you play long enough...you'll make the Hall of Fame ballot.  That said, "Higgy" WILL get one sympathy ballot.  I guarantee it.
