This Week in Baseball Cards: July 4

While most of the baseball world is concerning themselves with interleague baseball and who got left off the All-Star rosters...The Hall is more interested in competitive eating, "Nails" and the exploits of Jose Canseco.

Sounds about right.

Here's Bo Rosny with this week's installment of "This Week in Baseball Cards".

Last Friday, champion hot dog eater Pat Bertoletti shared his thoughts on which ballplayers would make the best competitive hot dog eaters. He didn’t mention Bob Walk, who isn’t much of a weiner man but is a superstar popsicle licker.

On Tuesday, the website set up to save Lenny Dykstra was discussed.  Lets hope the contributions to this site pull Lenny out of the downward spiral he’s been in since Donruss named him Dr. Dirt back in 1991. Poor guy has had to live down to that reputation ever since, and it’s finally taking its toll.

Finally, on Thursday, The Hall poked a little fun at Jose Canseco for failing to hit a home run until his 80th plate appearance. It’s really not fair to make fun of Jose...all his career he’s just kept to himself, not bothering anyone. He really just wants to be left alone.

Remember, you can check out Bo's daily insights over at his site...Baseball Cards Come to Life.
