Monday night, the shortstop from Louisiana was taken twelfth overall by the New York Mets. But it was dude's Friday that made history.
After working out for the team earlier in the day, the high school senior was at Citi Field to witness Johan Santana's no-hitter first hand.
"It was unbelievable," Cecchini said on a conference call. "The place was rocking. It really was an awesome thing."
More awesome would have been if Cecchini would've filled in for Santana Monday night when the lefty failed to make it to the Ed Sullivan Theater to read David Letterman's Top Ten List.
Instead the late night legend had to do it himself.
